Whether you are looking to start a fun and rewarding career or want to learn a new and exciting hobby, Adventure Bound School of Taxidermy will give you the tools and knowledge necessary to embark on this new and unique adventure. Students will benefit from our small classes and friendly learning atmosphere giving each individual the one-on-one immersion they require. Every student will go through either a four week program or an economical one week program of intensive training including mounting one Whitetail Deer, one life size mammal, one migratory bird (duck), one upland bird (pheasant), and one antler plaque. You will also learn habitat rock making and business ethics. All students will take their mounts and tool kits home along with a wealthy knowledge of what it takes to be a successful taxidermist. As an avid hunter and fisherman, I wanted to find a career in the outdoors. So I finally realized that I wanted to be a taxidermist. At that time, there were no taxidermy schools in Oklahoma. I found myself at Missouri Taxidermy Institute, I completed the program and quickly began my taxidermy career. Today my wife and I run a very successful taxidermy shop. In fact, it became one of the largest taxidermy shops in NE Oklahoma. I currently serve on the Board of Directors with The Oklahoma Taxidermy Association. In my years of competing, I've won several awards such as People's Choice, Best of Show, Van Dykes Award, McKenzie Award, Wood Guy Award, several Best Whitetail awards, two time best game head awards, three time state champion, two time state mounting contest champion, two time mini competition champion and best mammal award and I am currently working on my master's certification. We have designed our school for small classes so the students will get the attention they deserve. We truly hope that you will embark on a fun-filled learning experience with us at Adventure Bound School of Taxidermy. We look forward to meeting and teaching you all that we know.
